Context
This one's my playground, sitting at the crossroads of a couple of gripes. First: when I handed in my notice recently, every contract template was the "print it out and fill it in by hand" kind, which didn't thrill me. Second: I'd noticed a lot of sites use them as a cheap hook to reel in traffic. So I decided to turn it into an experiment.
What I did
Sepsáno is a site with dozens of templates on offer (contracts, powers of attorney, housing and business documents). You fill them in right on the page and download a finished PDF or DOCX. Nothing to pay, and I don't collect any data - it all happens in your browser. Each template is anchored to its matching record in the official law collection (e-Sbírka), so when a statute changes, I get an email and the template shows a visible notice. The watcher no longer runs on my own server - GitHub Actions fires it every Monday morning. Built with Astro, hosted on Cloudflare; pdf-lib and the docx library handle the export, Czech diacritics included, which is rarer in generated PDFs than it should be.
Where it stands
Sepsano.cz now carries over sixty templates. Lately it has started hitting around two hundred clicks a day, and it is still growing - most sent by Google, the rest by Bing. The templates genuinely rank, some holding top positions. Google also cites the site in its AI Overviews: over the past week, routinely more than two hundred citations a day, pointing at more than twenty-five different pages. I recently launched a Slovak version at spisane.sk, with forty-plus templates so far. Mainly I want to see how robust my generate-and-check pipeline is when pointed at a second market - and, while I'm at it, how different the Slovak search results turn out to be from the Czech ones.
